Where Are The .tpl Files Located On Phpbb?

I am trying to put some adsense code into my phpbb. I know how to insert it and have found all the instructions but i just cant find any files ending in .tpl, all mine end in .html. I’ve looked in all the folders, including the template ones as i guess thats what .tpl is for, but i just cant find them 
I have the latest version and i’ve found similarly named filed such as main_footer.htm but where is main_footer.tpl ?!?!

They’re in the admin section. I think it’s in the appearance section. Just search the admin section.
nm. i just re-read your question and you found what I was talking about. are you referring to the actual page that has the php code in it?
