Channels allow you to look at your website on a deeper level and get data on how Adsense performs on various aspects of your website. It is especially helpful if you run several topics as it allows you to get information on how well each topic performs — e.g. which topic brings in the most clicks, highest ECPM, highest revenues.
There are two types of channels:
URL channel – e.g. track everything under a domain, subdomain or folder such as http://www.widgets.com/blue
Custom channels — allow you to track ad formats as well as specific grouping of pages
Channels are merely a TRACKING mechanism – adding channels will not necessarily increase your page impression or earn money, unless you do something with the data (e.g. create more content based on the channel that delivers the best results)
I suggest you read everything about Channels from the Adsense Help center https://www.google.com/adsense/support/b…
