Weird Buisness Idea, What Do You Think?
Posted by Adsense Enquirer on February 8th, 2010 at 08:12pm
1. Make a website.
2. Buy nice products at retail stores.
3. Sell them on the website for the same amount that I bought them for.
4.Put Google adsense on the site and generate profit from the ads.
The site would not make profit from the items for sale but rather from the ads on your site. The very desirable products would just be there to attract traffic. If you made enough money from the ads maybe you could actually sell the products for less money than you bought them for and still make a profit.
It’s probably a dumb idea, but what do you think?
Under adsense money

2. Buy nice products at retail stores.
(WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BUY THEM?)
3. Sell them on the website for the same amount that I bought them for.
(WHY WOULD ANYONE BUY THEM? WHY NOT JUST SELL THEM FOR $1?..first come first serve…you get the traffic but only one person can actually get it.)
4.Put Google adsense on the site and generate profit from the ads.
Because it takes tens of thousands of impressions to make tens of dollars. Obviously whatever you spent on generating the traffic would be better spent just selling something!

It is.
But keep thinking. Really. Mistakes preceed success.

Interesting, but you have to go into more detail.
What about paying for the domain?
Shipping?
Etc…

Not a bad idea but you are not going to be able to avoid a markup of the merchandise. Ad space alone does not a profit make my young padawan.

I don’t think this is a weird business idea. I would however modify your strategy – 2. Buy nice BUT HARD TO FIND products – 3. Sell them on the website at a PRICE that include shipping and handling expenses. Good luck on your business venture.

not a bad idea. but to profit from adsense, you don’t need to buy the product really. if i’m your visitors, i love review than just the product. so, what you can do is just warm me up to so that i can’t live without clicking to the ads.

Hello Seth 187
I think that’s a great Idea, but you know before you launch your website you will need a domain name.
I know of a Program that you can register your domain name for free for 7-Days, and this Company has Resell Rights,
which equals, Huge Potential
Check it out!!

It sounds dumb. But never say never. Try it. Bill Gates probably was mocked by a few of the cool guys at college before he stumbled on an idea we all know about and ended up paying for…..

I can’t say it’s dumb because that’s undermining your idea.
Remember, Ebay and Amazon take up most of that online marketing sector. You really don’t want to go into a “me-too” situation [as defined by the book: "Big Brands, Big Trouble"]. Even though your idea is not affiliated with those two companies, it is loosely connected with them.
Also, you have to think of grabbing the customer’s attention. What makes your site different from others? How often do you want regular customers to visit? How will you get regular customers in the first place?
Bill Gates thought of Microsoft. George Lucas thought of Star Wars. Richard Branson thought of Virgin. It’s just a matter of planning before you get to your initial idea.
I hope that helped.

sounds nice, but you will need a license for it, and it will need to be promoted big time to make any money
