About me…… I am a newbie to the world of internet business.
What I am looking forward to, is some good sound advice on this diverse subject. I can certainly be categorized as NOT rich but I have some $$ which I plan to invest on a worthy business. I have googled around, visited forums but the information out there is superficial, contradictory and ambiguous. I would really love some specifics on:
1) Best affiliate programs from personal experiences.
2) Optimum investment (few 100s to 10K max) and expected returns.
3) Buying established websites which are already making money.
4) Mentorship
5) Free resources as well as genuine paid ones.
6) Own websites or google adsense?
7) Targeted traffic generation
Search Engine Optimization
9) Personal Experiences…Personal Experiences and Personal Experiences………..
10) Skills and time involved.
11) Since, I dont have any product of my own to sell, what are my options?
12) “Idiots guide to Internet Riches” ?
Thanks a lot guys

I run an internet based television service, True Black Television. It is primarily targeted towards the African-American audience. The network is run on a low, low budget. I have big dreams for the network including being on all major cable and satellite systems. I also want a news program along with many scripted shows. But, I cannot afford any of this, so I run many African-American shows in syndication. The channel is available on MySpace, YouTube, Metacafe, and Dailymotion. The network reaches 200,000 since being launched on June 29, 2008. Aside from that, my blog is #3 on the Google Rankings with 20,000 views since August 18, 2008. For all of these plans, it takes a lot of money. The only way that I can make this money is through ad revenue. I have pitched to numerous businesses, only to be turned down, or cheated. I need advertisers, but I do not know how to place banners on my videos or my blog. Also, I do not want to use AdSense. But, what I do is add advertisers to my blogrolls and place links to the sites in my video’s description boxes. But, I have turned up pretty much empty. So, anyone who is interested, please help me. I have a feeling that my network will end up being just another unused idea.

This question may be naive. Or may be with an obvious answer. But I think somehow it’s not the whole truth.
Kindly correct me if I am wrong or mistaken. Also Please bear if this is not the pertinent forum to post this.
how does some websites generate revenue? Especially the ones like Wikipedia, Digg.com, Popurls.com, orkut.com, Yahoo Messenger etc. [many many other sites as well] which doesn’t seemingly post any Ads [Adsense or Any other Ads] on their webpages? Or doesn’t run any Affiliate programs or any other apparent revenue generation schemes on their sites?
how do they make money? What do they do to sustain? I know Digg.com makes so much money. But how? Is it just the Brand Value ie., the value these sites create? Or are there any other hidden things?
What are the parameters?
What are the Different Methods of revenue generation for sites those aren’t directly selling anything, not displaying any ads, are without affiliate links? how and Why do they exist?
More Traffic is More Value. But how does traffic matter without Ads running on the pages? So ,how is Traffic converted to [Monetary]Value?
Kindly enlighten. And Please explain with examples where possible.
Thanks.

I know Google Adsense has a referral program which will pay the affiliate after someone signs up using their affiliate link. Does Yahoo Publisher have a similar system where people may sign up using an affiliate link and make that affiliate money for the signup/referral?

I’ve just signed up with payperpost.com and I’m not really sure how it all works. It’s marketed as a site where you can write a blog or post and get paid by sponsors/advertisers. I’m finding it rather cumbersome, though.
I just want somewhere online where I can write articles and get paid for them, not by people having to pay to see the content, but rather for advertisers (for example) to pay for the coverage they’d get. You know? Those bars you sometimes see at the top or side of some websites which have sponsored links.
Am I thinking along the same lines as the companies who offer these services? Do other schemes such as AdSense and writingup.com operate along these lines?

Since Adsense, Adwords, or other Google product referrals are now retiring at the end of August, will Google continue to offer these referral programs in other alternative forms? I signed up and became a member of Google Affiliate Network. However, I cannot locate their own referral programs in their own affiliate network. Did I overlook? Please, tell me I did. I have a website that recommends using Adsense, Adwords, and Google Knol. So in other words, I can’t make money from my recommendations? Please someone tell me Google affiliate programs are still available somehow. Thanks. I’d greatly appreciate your help.
