First of all you have to make the $100 minimum during the month before Adsense will issue you a payment the next month.
You can opt to have your payment sent to you by regular check or by bank transfer. If you're out of the United States you have additional payment options as well.
Another thing that you will want to be careful of is to make sure that all of your contact information has been provided - otherwise you won't be getting a payment until you do.
Another thing is to make sure that your account isn't on "hold". Adsense gives you until the 15th of the month to take your account off the "hold" status.
Now as far as WHEN you get paid that is an ongoing fascination with a lot of us Adsense-ers!
Basically speaking the target date of receiving your "payment in proress" line on your Adsense Account - the average date is the 25th of the next month. Note that I say "average" here because the adsense payments can come earlier or they can come later. There's no exact date that it comes every month and Adsense themself has said that the payment dates are related to the cycle dates of the month - which means that since each month is not the same as far as date structure that means that there could be a different processing cycle for different months.
For example you would think that February being the shortest month of the year your adsense payment would arrive earlier but noooooooooooo it came (at least in my case) a few days before the month ended! Kind of kooky huh? There have been months where the last day of the month was on the 31st BUT I have gotten an adsense payment as early as the 22nd of the month!
So its just best to assume that the "average" date that you should see a payment in progress line in your adsense account would be the 25th of the month.
And one important thing that I should point out is that even though I mention "average" the official Adsense stance on payment date is that if you don't receive your payment by the 5th of the next, next month (that is if you are getting your payment via bank transfer. If you're getting your payment by regular check then the payment date is much later - I think by the end of the next, next month) then you should report it to them so that they can decide whether or not they will have to re-issue you your payment.
