And for those how earn good sums, is it due to a big trafic in your site or you have some secrets ?

5 digits a month — from good content, good traffic, good topics, responsive audience and a lot of experimentation in ad optimization (ad format, placement and layout)

You need a lot of visitors to your site to make a decent adsense amount. I currently have over 6,000 webpages and I just received a check for over $103.00 last month. Not much for over 6,000 pages, but everything comes down to promoting.
you can use videos to get traffic and you can write articles but just remember it needs to be done on a massive scale. For example, write one article and use Isnare to distribute it to over 48,000 publishers.

I make a few thousand a month.
The key to making money is to develop a site concept that you are an expert in that also is high in the adwords bids. Write about 200 pages on the topic, get about 2000 visitors a day and you can make a decent amount of money. It takes time and a lot of writing and working to get traffic but it can be done

My Ads are earning about $5.00 per day on average. I just launched a survival and sporting goods web site with 3305 web pages with an Adsense video ad box, two text boxes and a site search giving me 13220 Asense ads. Another datafeed web site I have been building will have 48,000 web pages with 4 ad blocks on each page. Hopefully I will kick up the average per day real soon.

Quality content and suitable advertisement place with High PR and high Traffic. Then you can earn well.
Of course, if you want to earn better, you do need to consider about the keyword as well
