  It would depend on how much traffic you are getting right now, and how much ad space you have available. I prefer to do private advertising on my blog as opposed to using any type of affiliate program or PPC ads like Adsense.
  Private advertising is when you set aside space on your blog for advertising and find buyers for the space on your own. It sounds difficult, but it’s really not.The standards that I use are 125×125 ads in my sidebar and text link ads as well. If your current traffic is pretty low, you can fetch about $1-$4 per space per month, and even lower for text links. If you get 1000 or so visitors per month, you can up that to $4-$10 per month for each space and about $1-$4 for text links. It’s pretty difficult to market your ad space though if your traffic is low.
  I know blogs that make upwards of $850 per month utilizing their ad space in this manner. The best way to increase your traffic is to consider getting a self-hosted blog and joining some communities to bring people in.
