How Can A 16 Year Old Earn Money During The Summer Months?

Posted by Adsense Enquirer on December 6th, 2009 at 08:14am

I was very excited to finally be at the age where I could get a car and a job. Unfortunately, the job part isn’t working out so well. I’ve applied for numerous stores in the area from K-mart to McDonald’s, and I’ve been denied the privilege of working at every single one. I’ve thought of more adventurous ways to earn money, but all of them don’t seem to be very realistic or appealing to me. A lot of online tutorials that tell teens how to make money recommend babysitting, but few people would trust their children in the hands of a stranger. An allowance is out of the question since we have just enough money to get through the summer until my mother gets back to work (works in a school). I thought about mowing lawns, and to me it seems like an ok idea, but my mother told me that it was not likely to work and that I should just fill out more job applications. Is there anything that I’ve missed as far as how I can earn money? I’ve looked into taking surveys online, but the pay is quite low for the amount of work that needs to be done. I also had a web comic out for awhile that failed to gain popularity (so much for Google AdSense). I’m plum out of ideas.

Try looking into getting a paper route in your town, job search/unemployment centres are good to go to, they also can help you look for a job. If you can to buy a local news paper, usualy in the classifieds businesses have job postings if they are looking for someone. Good luck finding a job bro

    try animal babysitting
while people are on there vacations offer to walk there pet and feed them
base your prices on the times you have to vist the animals, number of animals, and difficulty of them. (i.e. if someone wants you to watch their cat or small sweet dag charge less than a pair of mean pit pulls)
put flyer’s up around town or neighborhood

At your age…lawn care is far more lucrative than most think. Consider lawn care. Small investment and you bill customers every week all summer. Otherwise, try a comission job selling something. Debt collections even…good money for the summer.

Maybe you can work as a teller at a bank such as Bnak of America or Wells Fargo. Another idea is to be a alarm. You can give alarm calls to people with the date, weather, etc. Can charge $15 a month.

Make babysitting flyers using the computer and put them in the library, people’s mailboxes, and grocery stores.
Drum up more business and keep a notebook to schedule when you do get a customer.
Culver’s minimum hiring age is 14 with a workers permit.
I called many stores because I am 14 looking for a job. This was the response they gave which makes me happy after looking for so long.
Find a local one go online and apply and go in store to apply or call and ask if they are hiring.
What I did was Google a bunch of business near my home and found their numbers using Google maps or their sites and I called and directly asked if they are hiring and what age do they hire at.
Try local grocery stores, pizza parlors, retail stores, fast food restaurants.
