How much money does someone receive each time a visitor clicks on an ad listed on their website??

It can be anywhere from 1 cent to as much as $35 or even higher.
Note though that the amount per click depends on:
- advertiser bid: how much the advertiser paid for that click
- revenue sharing between Google and the publisher: the publisher cannot get 100% of the amount the advertiser bid on the keyword because of the revenue sharing which Google does not disclose
- smartpricing = the big unknown in Adsense but it can discount the amount paid by the advertiser if Google sees that your site offers poor conversion for the advertiser.
So if the advertiser paid $100 for that keyword, but if your site is smartpriced you will not receive that $100 but a significantly lower amount. So publishers chasing the holy grail of keywords such as Mesothelomia which was published to be paying as much as $130 per click only saw clicks of $1 or less because their sites were smartpriced

As was said above, it can vary greatly. However, for most sites, expect to earn between $0.10 and $0.20 per click.
