I want to be able to make money with my blog at wordpress, I know that I should buy a host and domain but I don’t have the money and I am not an html smarty pants.

No, Adsense is not permitted on free Wordpress.com blogs. See the FAQ referenced below for more details:http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adse…
You can use Amazon affiliate links in the text of your posts, but unless you get a lot of traffic I wouldn’t count on making too much money from that.
Blogger ( http://www.blogger.com/ ) is a free blogging platform that will give you the freedom to monetize your blog more extensively.
If you prefer to stick with WordPress (which is certainly a better platform), you will need to get your own hosting and domain. You sound hesitant about getting paid hosting, but it’s not as expensive or complicated as you might think.
