Top keywords list that say a keyword costs anywhere from 3-15 dollars is one thing; and the real income received from the publisher is another thing. Google Adsense has what is called “smart pricing” which either discounts or jack up the cost to an advertiser depending on how likely a web page will convert for the advertiser. What you are experiencing is a classic case of smart pricing. You’ve been smartpriced out of what you thought was a high keyword
From the Google webpage, here is how they define smart pricing http://www.google.com/adwords/learningce...
“Because contextually targeted ads on our content network sometimes return lower conversion numbers than ads on Google.com search results pages, clicks from the content network use “smart pricing” adjustments. Google’s smart pricing technology automatically lowers the cost of content clicks based on the referring site, to maximize the return on investment for advertisers.
If our data shows that clicks from a particular content page are less likely to return results, our system automatically reduces the price the advertiser pays for those clicks. The AdWords system takes the work out of CPC bidding, helping to ensure strong return on investment no matter where your ads appear. Smart pricing adjustments are automatically reflected in the average CPC for content targeting shown in the Campaign Management interface.
As an example of smart pricing, consider two websites, each related to digital photography. The first page features digital camera reviews, while the second offers photography tips. Clicks from the page of photography tips might be charged less, because they are expected to convert into sales less frequently, resulting in lower value for advertisers. Google data determines that clicks from the digital camera reviews convert better, so clicks from this page are not discounted.”

    Optimization
Many “would be” web designers decide to build a site around the highest paying keywords, yet, forget to optimize their site around a specific keyword. Instead, they forget the basics of how to properly create a title tag, page description, keyword density and having clean search engine spider friendly code.
Remember, its the source code that the Adsense and Kanoodle programs are using to decide what ads will appear. If your top 2 keywords are “insurance” and “downloads”, you may find that you end up with ads regarding “insurance downloads” which of course will not pay much.
Also, having a high keyword density score for the keyword can get you into trouble with the search engines (specifically Google). Keywords spamming is never a good idea. Optimize your page and you will search more hits to that page and not confuse the bots that create the ads for you.
    Content
This is by far the most important and most missed tips. If you are going to include top paying keywords on your site, remember, if you want to attract high paying ads, you need to be selling your visitor on what your advertiser wants. Your content should sell to the visitors needs. Why should your visitor consider car insurance? What are the benefits of car insurance? Where can they get the best quotes? If you pique the interest of your visitor, they are more likely to click on your ads than if they feel that they are not getting the information they came to your site for in the first place.
    How to make More money
Go to http://www.adsblacklist.com and choose relevant to your site category. copy all domains that will show up and insert them to https://www.google.com/adsense/filter-on...
This way you will ban those low-cost advertiser from showing up on your site.
the real secret is to build highly optimized content resource that people can actually use. Link farms was a temporary solution and now google bans them.
Check out this Feedchain.com RSS Marketing script, which is the only tool that delivers dynamic AdSense optimized content and helps with SEO. It aggregates relevant content, filters and publishes it (as HTML and RSS), then calculates the best keywords and links all script’s instances into directory.
    good luck
